Lhasa Namtso Lake tour starts from historic capital city of Tibet, Lhasa. On our way to hotel, you will be amazed by beautiful plateau scenery. You will have sight of many wild birds. Lhasa Namtso Lake package covers all famous temples, palace and monasteries in Lhasa. Golden sunshine and blue sky in Lhasa is the dream of many travelers all over the world. Lhasa is the pilgrimage destination of all Tibetans and other Buddhists.

Drepung and Sera monasteries are our 1st major destinations in Lhasa. These monasteries are 2 of the 3 biggest Gelupa manasteries in Lhasa. You will love the monasteries for their their unique culture and history. On 3rd day of our Lhasa Namtso Lake tour, we visit the world famous Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple. Potala Palace is landmark of Tibet. Potala Palace is most known as residence of Dalai Lama. Jokhang Temple is most scared shrine of Tibet. It was built in 7th century. You will find pilgrims busy with their full-body-prostration circulation around the temple and Bakhor Street.

After 3 day stay in Lhasa we go to Namtso Lake. It means Sky Lake. The Lake is located in the vast North-Tibet Grasslands. It is highest salt water lake in world. It has bright turquoise water. The lake is surrounded by snow capped mountains. It is regarded as one of three holy lakes in Tibet. The Lake in this Vast Grasslands is really a must see place on your Tibet journey. The lake has fantastic natural scenery. A visit to this breathtaking holy lake is one of the highlights of this trip.

Day 1 : Arrive Lhasa

Upon your arLival at Gongar airport or train station, you will be met, assisted and transferred to Lhasa city which is 68 km will take about an hour. Driving along the Brahmaputra river and Lhasa river, you will not only amazed by the spectacular plateau scenery but also have a chance to see flocks of black-necked crane, wild duck and many other kind of wild birds, if you are not tired, stop at Nethang Giant Buhhda caving on the way. If you take the train to Lhasa, normally you will arrive in the late afternoon or evening, 20 minutes drive will take you to your hotel in Lhasa city. Rest of the day at leisure to get acclimatized. Overnight at Lhasa.

Day 2 : Lhasa City sightseeing, visit Drepung monastery and Sera monastery

Visit Drepung monastery in the morning and Sera Monastery in the afternoon. Both Drepung and Sera monasteries are Gelugpa (yellow hat) sect monastic colleges. Drepung monastery was the seat of the Government prior to Potala, it was once the world largest monastery in the history with 10,000 monks hailed from different monasteries all over Tibet. Sera monastery is famous for its Buddhism philosophical debate practice (Not available on Sunday), the clapping sound and aggressive expression of the monks are worth to see. Overnight at Lhasa.

Day 3 : Lhasa City sightseeing, visit Potala Palace & Jokhang Temple

Visit Jokhang Temple and Potala Palace. Jokhang temple is Tibet's most scared shrine built in 7th century, located at the heart of old town of Lhasa and the circuit around it called Barkhor street. Potala Palace is the worldwide known cardinal landmark of Tibet. The massive structure

itself contains a small world within it. Mostly it is renowned as residence of the Dalai Lama lineages (Avalokiteshvara). Overnight at Lhasa.

Day 4 : Lhasa / Namtso Lake

Driving along Northern Tibetan grassland, distance view of the Nyenchen Thanglha snow mountain ranges, from the Largen-la pass (5190m) you can have the first view of Namtso lake in the distance. Namtso Lake means sky lake which is one of the three most holy lakes in Tibet, also it is the highest salt water lake in the world. You can hike at the lakeside and around the Tashi Do peninsula. Overnight at local tent guest house.

Day 5 : Namtso / Nomad Family visit / Lhasa
